upon recently performing in NYC - around the time of CMJ, i began hearing a lot of buzz surrounding the band The XX. the buzz was ridiculous and considering i hadnt heard any of their material, i had no idea as to what sort of band they were. until recently.

i hate finding out about an ill band through other peoples’ hypebeasting; but that certainly was the case with The XX. a plethora of my musical peers were shoving the music down my throat until finally i gave in and purchased the entire album without prior hearing a single song. and im glad i did.

the male female vocalist contrast this band has is amazing. the tones are really ill too. ambient pop and rock a little psychedelic even. i really rock with these guys. looks like theyre stateside in a week or two for some shows. would love to catch the experience live.

in the studio. mixing records. not even an hour later the girlfriend and i broke up. and really changed and impacted my ‘here and now’. the ‘heartbroken heartbreaker’ is, simply because that night, was.

its fun to play on that concept. no lights on… in the attic. absent mind. void.

my best offense has always been my strong defense. but even with the strongest defenses, i’ve become aware that i have subjected myself to the wackness.

you know, the wackness? the abundant, and honestly quite prevalent, amount of wack sh*t in mass circulation these days. im becoming more aware of such- and incidentally, am beginning to feel quite ill.

so much these days, is the wack sh*t. attention world, i could do without.

sidebar: makes one feel so incredibly uninspired. wheres my creation? guess it walked off with their creativity. do me a solid, pass me a text message when the both return.

ever find yourself making any one of the above faces while waiting for a call? only to find the call never comes? i mean thats not say i ever wait for calls. that would be ridiculous right? exactly.
