site update | Marcus McFly TV

real quick just wanted to drop a line and let you know we have added a new page to the website. not really a ‘new page’. rather, we just updated and reconfigured an existing page. this is the non-ad version of Marcus McFly TV. so now whenever you see me announce on my Twitter that i am ‘going live’, you can head over to Marcus McFly TV [marcusmcfly.com/live] and check me out live. answering questions, critiquing music and fashion, sharing news, giving things away, etc.

check it out if you havent already. you will be able to find all of my video blogs there.

Television Special: “Embedded w/Mos Def”

i thought this was pretty dope. hence why i posted it to the blog. Mos takes Current TV on a week long tour of Japan while he promotes his new [and amazing] album The Ecstatic. check it out. its actually more like 50 mins without the commercials; but relax a bit and check it. its worth it.

as said by CurrentTV:

On this special hour-long Embedded, Mos Def takes us on an all-access seven-day tour of Japan while he performs his new album “The Ecstatic”, to packed venues in Tokyo and Osaka. During that week, he hits up the Harajuku fashion district, whoops it up at a sumo wrestling match, and gets a personal tour of the Tokyo Giants stadium from his friend and baseball phenom Mark Kroon. Then, he brilliantly ties it all together by divulging the history of great thinkers known as “ecstatics,” showing that he is clearly one of the most insightful men in Hip-Hop.

Indie Film: ‘War School’

Opting for a short based around war + peace, Ben Newman came up with one of the most popular entries, gaining praise across the board by re-creating a military training camp for child soldiers in a British school.

Prince - If I Was  Your Girlfriend

Comments

tonight is a big night for Kentucky’s concert scene. not only do we get Wale, possible J Cole, and N.E.R.D. on the same bill. but we also have the esteemed pleasure of having Jay Z rock the stage as well. pretty amazing lineup.

now i know what you’re wondering. you want to know if i got tickets to the show. of course not. i had every thought that i would be doing something else tonight and would be too busy to go. oh how wrong i was. in a last minute effort to pull some strings and make some calls from the Blackberry, i finally get a response. a little more than 2 hours before N.E.R.D. are expected to take the stage.

still with no ticket and no one to roll with. im going to order a pizza and watch Blow. just remember the moral here, networking pays off. just make sure you capitalize from your resources ahead of time. dont wait until the last minute.

sidebar: i failed here. thanks. and goodbye.

amazing video. even more amazing song. always been, both, a Justice & a Kravitz fan.

things in this ‘city’ have been moving at a snail like pace. thats for sure and has since become the expression used when describing how things have been for us. ‘slow motion’ is not even the half of it.

opening day of the horse tracks and not a single one of us could attend. the rain keeps me from wanting to do much of anything. so we twist the cap off a couple of [root] beers and vibe out as a collective at the boutique. hey, at least we’re dry.

[my current phone Blackberry 8900 (past) and the new Blackberry 9700 (the future)]

November 11th, 2009 (date of release) this phone will be mine. sad to be getting rid of my Blackberry 8900. but its time. its time. for 5 months it has served its due diligence. but the new one will be beastly and i look forward to capitalizing. mobile productivity.

in T-Mobile’s own words:

“The BlackBerry ‘Onyx’ sports a premium experience and design with a high-gloss black finish and leather grain detail on the back. Boasting features such as high-speed 3G Web browsing, Wi-Fi calling, visual voicemail and support for corporate and personal e-mail options, the ‘Onyx’ will satisfy all your on-the-go needs. Also the phone comes preloaded with mobile applications from BlackBerry App World, including Amazon MP3 store for quick and easy music downloads and TeleNav GPS Navigator for turn-by-turn directions.”

seriously Barry this is getting old man. i keep on telling homie not to throw messages like this into the public arena. i try and school him on how to shoot a Blackberry blast to your boy. but no. he insists on Twittering our plans to all 2,000,000 of his Twitter followers. i guess the secrets out now.

sidebar: you should probably be following me on Twitter by now.
